The Origin
Taylor Black has always seen color differently. Where others saw a flat image, Taylor saw warmth, depth, mood — a palette of emotional possibility waiting to be unlocked. That sensitivity to color would become the foundation of a remarkable career.
In 2004, Taylor graduated from The Los Angeles Film School's film program. The hands-on training in post-production, color theory, and digital workflows gave him the technical foundation to step into the fast-evolving world of professional color grading.
Over the next two decades, Taylor built a career that would make him one of the most prolific colorists in the industry — working on over 100 films and series across every genre.
Today, Taylor is a Senior Colorist at Apache Digital, a Dolby-certified facility specializing in color and finishing for film, television, and streaming — putting everything he learned at LAFS to work at the highest level.
