The Partnership

Industry veteran DJ Skee (Scott Keeney) partnered with The Los Angeles Film School to launch SKEE TV — a music series on the Fuse network built around live performances and interviews with the biggest names in music. The show was filmed on campus at the recently renovated Ivar Theatre, at the intersection of Sunset & Vine — what Skee called a 'Times Square West marquee studio.'

The partnership put LAFS graduates on the production crew of every single episode — bridging the gap between traditional job placements and entrepreneurial opportunity. Current students were able to watch live musical appearances by top stars, filmed steps from their classrooms.

SKEE TV premiered Thursday, April 9 on Fuse. SKEE Live followed on AXS TV, expanding the franchise into a weekly live showcase. Together, the series gave LA Film School students hands-on experience on a real network television production — and put their campus on the map as a destination for live music in Hollywood.

Jeremiah "Paper" Melton is the backbone behind the SKEE TV production crew. An LA Film School alumnus, Paper ran production coordination and behind-the-scenes operations for the SKEE TV and SKEE Live episodes filmed at the Ivar Theatre. From wrangling crew and managing the stage during live tapings with MGK, Post Malone, and Chris Brown, to producing the BTS content that documented every episode, Paper represents the LAFS graduates who powered every SKEE TV episode.

Behind every SKEE TV episode was a crew of LAFS graduates making it happen. We didn't just watch the industry — we ran the set.
